  • STAGES Theatre Festival: BLACKOUT

    Experience BLACKOUT on June 7 at Alderney Landing on the Dartmouth waterfront. Presented by Eastern Front Theatre’s STAGES festival (Industry Series), this special presentation of Erasure Art Collective’s inaugural project takes BLACKOUT outside for a special presentation set against the Halifax Harbour city scape.

  • Creative Minds: BLACKOUT

    Experience BLACKOUT performance and artist talk with Erasure Art Collective on February 28 at Paul O'Regan Hall in Halifax. Presented by the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia (Creative Minds program) and hosted by Portia Clark (CBC), this event features poetry with visual art, short film and live performance collaboration with African Nova Scotian musicians. Admission is free.

    BLACKOUT 2.0 is an interdisciplinary project that recreates historical slave ads using ‘erasure’ or ‘blackout’—a form of poetry created by erasing words from an existing text to create a visual poem. Join Erasure Art Collective at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia for an intimate presentation featuring art installations, short films, and live performance collaborations with African Nova Scotian musicians working in a range of musical genres.
